Who we are.

We started out making gear for marching band programmes, and for a long time that was the whole business.

What we learned doing it was that the hard part was almost never the product. It was everything around it — collecting sizes across a hundred students, getting artwork approved before a season started, delivering to three schools instead of one, and being straight with a director about what a budget would actually cover.

Those same programmes started asking for other things. Staff polos. Lanyards for an open day. Hi-vis for the grounds crew. Then the districts they belonged to asked, and then the agencies and businesses around them. None of it was really a different job — it was the same job, for bigger organizations with stricter rules about how they are allowed to buy.

So we built the company around those rules rather than against them: written quotes, purchase orders, artwork approved in writing, delivery dates we commit to. Today that includes holding a South Carolina statewide term contract — and My Band Gear is still here, as its own division.
